Accountability

Every Wednesday I meet with a friend and we write. First, we take twenty to thirty minutes to catch up with each other. Then we discuss what we hope to accomplish during our writing session. After that, all you can hear is the sound of our fingers stroking our keyboards. I recommend giving this a try with someone that’s committed to writing. It’s a good way to ensure you reach your goals because the person sitting across from you holds you accountable.

Side note: If you’re ever in New York, Suzan-Lori Parks host a writing session called watch me work at the public theater. It’s here that writer’s gather to write. It’s an amazing experience to see everyone writing simultaneously. It’s also a good way to ensure you get words on the page. Happy writing!
